Fehmarn
Seventy-eight kilometres of coastline alternate between beaches, inland lakes and cliffs. Rolling fields, which in spring turn into a bright yellow sea during the rapeseed season, are waiting to be discovered by bike. Fehmarn is also perfect for (kite) surfing, sailing, riding and golfing.
Top attractions
The "Flügge lighthouse", the highest in Fehmarn, is at the heart of the Krummsteert nature reserve. The wide view from the top extends over fields, meadows, the sea, the Fehmarn Sound Bridge, and the horizon. In the NABU Waterbird Reserve, take your place in one of the hides to see if you can spot rare birds in it's natural habitat. Become an underwater explorer at the Meereszentrum Fehmarn aquarium. Thousands of tropical marine animals from all four corners of the world frolic in four million litres of water, over a stretch of 5,000 square metres. Highlights include sharks, a ray tunnel, and the colourful coral garden.
